Middle School welcomes Mr. Donnick

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Justin Donnick to the Deer Lakes School District.
Mr. Donnick is the Middle School's new Seventh-Grade Special Education teacher. He attended Fox Chapel Area High School and earned his bachelor's degree in special education at Clarion University. He worked as an educator for one year prior to joining Deer Lakes School District.
"I am excited to join the wonderful team at Deer Lakes in pursuing their mission to shape today's learners into tomorrow's leaders," Mr. Donnick said. "Everyone has been so kind and welcoming to me from the moment I have stepped through the door. I look forward to many wonderful experiences and memories to make in the years to come. Go Lancers!"
Mr. Donnick was inspired to become a teacher through his experiences in inclusive educational environments.
"I teach because it makes me happy to teach students the skills they need to become successful," Mr. Donnick said. "I enjoy making learning fun, engaging and meaningful. I believe it is very important to make students excited to come to school, and I hope to be a reason why they are excited to be in school. Being in the field of special education is very rewarding to me. Small steps for some students can make a world of difference."
