Ms. Earls earns Outstanding Middle Level Teacher award

Ms. Earls believed in supporting students in everything they experienced.
Teaching, mentoring, and empowering students extended far beyond the walls of her Foreign Languages class.
That is why Ms. Earls, who was nominated by the Deer Lakes Middle School staff, was the perfect candidate to earn the award for the PAMLE Ann Moniot Outstanding Middle Level Teacher.
The award was inspired by Ann Moniot, an educator from Pittsburgh who was one of the original Board Members of PAMLE. The award recognizes middle level educators who have positively influenced middle level education as well as middle level students.
Ms. Earls, who passed away in December, was present at every moment possible for her students whether she was teaching them in class, directing them in a Drama Department production, coaching them in Cheerleading, or overseeing their athletic event.
She was every student’s biggest fan.
